Wrestler of the Week - Jules Doliscar (Ithaca)
Rookie of the Week - Bobby Dierna (Cortland)
Senior 174-pounder Jules Doliscar (Dix Hills, N.Y.) of Ithaca and freshman 149-pounder Bobby Dierna (Webester, N.Y.) of Cortland have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference. Doliscar was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Dierna was picked as Rookie of the Week.
In Doliscar’s only bout of the week he convincingly defeated the fourth-ranked wrestler in his weight class, Lou Puca of Cortland, with a second-period pin after a quick takedown. Doliscar was leading 6-3 at the time of the decisive exchange, and recorded the pin at 3:28. Doliscar entered the bout ranked second nationally at his weight class and is 28-1 on the season.
Dierna, ranked fourth nationally at 149 pounds, recorded a 15-4 major decision as the third-ranked Red Dragons earned a 22-16 dual-match win versus 13th-ranked Ithaca last Wednesday. The major, Dierna's team-high ninth of the season, improved his record to 26-2 overall. Cortland's victory raised its record to 18-2 as the Red Dragons set a single-season record for dual-match wins.

Senior 165-pounder Blake Fisher (Seaford, N.Y.) of Oswego, sophomore 133-pounder Alex Gomez (Brentwood, N.Y.) of Ithaca and freshman 133-pounder Jordan Dyer (Chenango Forks, N.Y.) of Brockport have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC). Fisher and Gomez were named Co-ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Dyer was picked as Rookie of the Week.
In a matchup of nationally-ranked wrestlers at 133 pounds, Ithaca's Gomez, who is third-ranked, posted a 9-3 decision over Myzar Mendoza, ranked fifth for Wilkes. Gomez used a late first-period takedown to seize control and extended his winning margin with near-fall points in the final minute of the bout.
Oswego State’s Fisher extended his win streak to 12 consecutive matches after posting wins against Western New England and 11th-ranked Wesleyan this weekend. Fisher, the ECWC Champion at 165 pounds, registered wins of 3-2 and 6-0 at 157 pounds to reach his 20th win of the season. He has not lost a match since January 11 at the Budd Whitehill Duals.
Dyer continues to dominate at 141 pounds, winning all three of his matches over the weekend. He scored 10-4 decision over James Carroll from Roger Williams, a 17-7 major decision over Sean McAllister from Western New England and a 7-1 decision over Tyler Tilbe from Worcester Polytechnic.

Wrestler of the Week - Nikolas Christine (Lycoming)
Rookie of the Week - Shaun Gillen (Oneonta)
Sophomore 197-pounder Nikolas Christine (Lewistown, Pa.) of Lycoming and freshman 165-pounder Shaun Gillen (Bohemia, N.Y.) of Oneonta have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC). Christine was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Gillen was picked as Rookie of the Week.
Christine posted two critical pins for the Warriors during dual meets against Stevens Tech and Millersville. His second-period fall against Stevens Tech helped the Warriors clinch a 24-14 win and his second-period stick against Division II Millersville, after falling behind 10-2, in the first period, tied the match at 15 heading into the final match of the 18-15 Marauders win.
Gillen won four bouts during a perfect week for the Red Dragons. He posted a 9-3 decision in a bout against 13th-ranked Ithaca and then went 3-0 during a quad-meet at Williams over the weekend, posting a decision, a major and a tech fall.

Wrestler of the Week - Matt Ellis (Brockport)
Rookie of the Week - Matthew Lashway (Brockport)
Sophomore 125-pounder Matt Ellis (Rochester, N.Y.) and freshman 197-pounder Matthew Lashway (Queensbury, N.Y.) of Brockport have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC). Ellis was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Lashway was picked as Rookie of the Week.
Ellis won the 125-pound title at the John Summa Memorial Tournament over the weekend and was also named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. Brockport won the event for the 16th time in the last 17 years. Ellis scored a 10-5 decision, a 16-7 major decision and then a 6-4 sudden victory decision in the championship bout over Baldwin-Wallace’s Jesse Gunter, who is listed as a contender in the d3wrestle.com rankings. Earlier in the week, he scored a major decision win over RIT in a mid-week dual.
Lashway won the 197-pound title at the Baldwin Wallace Tournament. He won a 12-3 major decision, a 9-5 decision and then in the title bout won a close 2-1 decision with the riding time as the determining factor against teammate Cole Tristam.

Wrestler of the Week - John Wilkinson (Brockport)
Rookie of the Week - Jordan Dyer (Brockport)
Junior heavyweight John Wilkinson (West Babylon, N.Y.) and freshman 141-pounder Jordan Dyer (Chenango Forks, N.Y.) of Brockport have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC). Wilkinson was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Dyer was picked as Rookie of the Week.
Wilkinson won a 4-2 sudden victory in a dual victory over Oswego on Wednesday and then won the heavyweight bracket at the Messiah Open Saturday to complete an undefeated week. At Messiah, he won a pair of major decision victories (13-1, 10-0) in his first two bouts and then posted decisions of 5-0 and 7-4 to complete the run to the championship. He is currently 17-2 and is riding a 15-match win streak.
Dyer pinned his opponent in 52 seconds in the Oswego dual and then placed third in the Messiah Open. At Messiah, he recorded two wins before a tough 5-3 loss to a Division I wrestler from Penn State in the semifinals. He rebounded to record two major decisions in the consolation bracket to place third in the bracket. He is 23-9 overall and 15-1 in the last 16 matches.

Wrestler of the Week - Jared Myhrberg (Cortland)
Rookie of the Week - Josh Thomson (Messiah)
Senior 197-pounder Jared Myhrberg (Queensbury, N.Y.) of Cortland and freshman 184-pounder Josh Thomson of Messiah have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference. Myhrberg was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Thomson was picked as Rookie of the Week.
Myhrberg won his third straight league title at 197 pounds and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 22nd annual Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championships. Myhrberg opened with an 8-3 victory, followed by a pin in the quarterfinals for his school-record 47th career fall (45 pins, two technical falls). He became the sixth Cortland wrestler to reach 100 career wins with his 12-3 victory in the semifinals and claimed his third league crown with a 5-2 win over Messiah's Travis Ebersole in the finals. Myhrberg, ranked first nationally at 197 pounds, is now 23-1 on the season.
Thomson, who still only has one loss on the season, took down all three of his opponents leading up to the championship match at the ECWC Championships, by pinning them. Then in the final bout, he faced the only opponent he has lost to this season, Will Parks of Cortland. It was a tight, back-and-forth fight but he avenged the previous loss and took the championship title in a 3-2 decision, helping Messiah pick up its first wrestling conference title in school history. Thomson is ranked sixth nationally at 184 pounds.

Co-Wrestlers of the Week - Brad Mayville (RIT), Jared Myhrberg (Cortland)

Senior 197-pounder Jared Myhrberg (Queensburg, N.Y.) of Cortland, sophomore 149-pounder Brad Mayville (Marion, N.Y.) of RIT and Jordan Dyer (Chenango Forks, N.Y.) of Brockport have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC). Myhrberg and Mayville were named ECWC Co-Wrestlers of the Week and Dyer was picked as Rookie of the Week.
Myhrberg finished 4-0 with a pin and technical fall in Cortland's matches at the NWCA/Cliff Keen Division III National Duals. He secured team wins for the Red Dragons with his victories versus Johnson & Wales and Wisconsin-La Crosse. The Red Dragons finished fourth at the 16-team tournament that included the top 10 teams in the country. Myhrberg is ranked first nationally at 197 pounds and is 19-1 with nine pins on the season.
Mayville went 4-0 for the Tigers at 149 lbs., winning three matches via pinfall at the Budd Whitehill Duals hosted by Lycoming College. On Friday, Mayville opened with a pin over Shane Sweeney of nationally-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 6:50, then pinned Shawn King of Thiel in 2:00. On Saturday, Mayville defeated Zack McCarthy of Case Western, 6-0, then earned a win over Garland McCormick of Muskingum via pinfall at 4:51. He is now 18-6 this season with eight pins. In dual matches, Mayville is 7-1.
Dyer led Brockport to a second-place finish at the Virginia Duals. In the three duals, Dyer won each of his matches by major decision by scores of 10-0, 10-2 and 10-2. Brockport defeated Central Florida and Nassau CC before dropping a close match to Stevens Tech in the championship.

Senior 184-pounder Tyler Cunningham (Haddon Township, N.J.) of Lycoming, sophomore 133-pounder Alex Gomez (Brentwood, N.Y.) of Ithaca, freshman 184-pounder Dan Glinko (Florham Park, N.J.) of Ithaca and Bobby Dierna (Webster, N.Y.) of Cortland have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC). Cunningham and Gomez were named ECWC Co-Wrestlers of the Week and Glinko and Dierna were picked as Co-Rookies of the Week.
With a pair of critical pins to help the Lycoming to wins over SUNY Oswego and RIT, Cunningham has earned his first career ECWC Wrestler of the Week award. The 184-pounder started his time at the Pa./N.Y. Duals by pinning Oswego's Brandon Jones with 1:00 left in the first period, giving Lycoming an insurmountable 16-point lead en route to a 22-17 win. He followed that by giving the Warriors their first lead of the dual against RIT, flattening Collin Doane in 4:07 to help spur the Warriors on to the 21-12 win. Cunningham evened his record on the season at 7-7 with the pair of wins.
Gomez, ranked eighth in the nation at 133 pounds, was 2-0 at the North-South Duals for the Bombers. He posted an 8-5 decision in an upset win over TCNJ’s second-ranked Dan Herr and followed it with a 7-2 decision against Division II Kutztown Cameron Kirby. Gomez is 8-3 on the season.
Glinko went 2-0 in his bouts at 184 pounds to help the Bombers to a pair of dual victories over Gettysburg and No. 20 TCNJ at the North-South Duals. Glinko won an 8-2 decision against Gettysburg’s Lukas Iorio as Ithaca won 44-0 and then posted a 3-1 decision against TCNJ’s K.C. Murphy. Glinko is 13-4 on the year.
Dierna, ranked third in the nation at 149 pounds, also went 2-0 at the North-South Duals with decisions against Merchant Marine Academy and 20th-ranked The College of New Jersey. His 13-7 win against USMMA tied the match at 7-7 and his 9-4 win against TCNJ gave Cortland an early 9-4 lead. Dierna improved his season record to 18-1.

Rookie of the Week - Shaun Gillen (Oneonta)
Junior 133-pounder Ben Mikac (Williamsville, N.Y.) and freshman 165-pounder Shaun GIllen (Bohemia, N.Y.) of Oneonta State have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference. Mikac was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Gillen was picked as Rookie of the Week. Wrestling at the Gulf Coast Duals in Ft. Myers, Fla., the duo led the Red Dragons to a 2-2 record at the event while each posted perfect 4-0 slates.
Mikac had a pair of decisions, one major and one win by pin fall. He started the event with a 3-2 decision over No. 15 Central College’s Dillon Anderson, posted a pin in 2:45 against Kevin Ambrocio of Concordia-Wisconsin, posted an 11-3 major decision against North Central’s Jon Williamson and wrapped up the meet with a 9-4 decision against No. 19 Augustana’s Jimmy Panozzo.
Gillen had three decisons and a major decision at 165 pounds. He notched a 4-2 decision against Central’s Mikah Fellows, a 16-9 decision against Concordia-Wisconsin’s Leonard Kuspa, an 11-3 major decision against North Central’s Will Hubbard and an 8-2 win over Augustana’s Alexander Bowers.

Myhrberg, the nation’s top-grappler at 197 pounds, picked up his second ECWC Wrestler of the Week award of the season after going 2-0 with two pins in Cortland's dual-match wins against Niagara County Community College and RIT. He pinned each opponent in less than 1:40 to improve to 13-1 with eight pins on the season.
Dyer, a contender in the latest d3wrestle.com rankings, earned his first ECWC Rookie of the Week award after the 141-pounder posted an 8-5 decision over Caleb Willey, who was in the honorable mention portion of the d3wrestle.com rankings, in Brockport’s dual-meet victory over Lycoming.

Sophomore Lou Puca (Huntington, N.Y.) and freshman 149-pounder Bobby Dierna (Webster, N.Y.) of Cortland have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference. Puca was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Dierna was picked as Rookie of the Week after helping the sixth-ranked Red Dragons to the team title at the Messiah College Petrofes Invitational.
Puca won the 174-pound weight class at the Petrofes Invitational. Ranked 10th nationally and seeded second, Puca went 4-0 with a pin and a technical fall. He defeated the top-seed and third-ranked wrestler from Gettysburg in the championship match. For the season, Puca is 12-3 with five pins, a technical fall and three major decisions.
Dierna won the 149-pound weight class at the Petrofes Invitational. Seeded first and ranked fifth nationally, Dierna finished 5-0 with three pins and a major decision, including a pin against the second seed in the title match. Dierna improved to 14-1 with five pins and three major decisions on the season.

Wrestler of the Week - Tyler Beckwith (Cortland)
Rookie of the Week - Ryan Lashway (Brockport)
Sophomore Tyler Beckwith (Greene, N.Y.) of Cortland and freshman 184-pounder Ryan Lashway (Queensbury, N.Y.) of Brockport have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference. Beckwith was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Lashway was picked as Rookie of the Week.
Beckwith finished second at 184 pounds at the New York State Collegiate Championships at Cornell. The fifth seed in the tournament, Beckwith went 3-1, including a 3-2 win in the semifinals over top-seeded Collin Wittmeyer of Army. He lost to the second seed from Cornell in the championship match. Cortland finished sixth overall and was the top Division III school in the 19-team field.
With an 8-4 decision over Army’s Tommy Doyle in the third-place match of the New York State Collegiates’ B Tournament, Lashway earned the Rookie of the Week award. Lashway pinned his first opponent in just 17 seconds before falling by a 7-0 score to Lukasz Stala from Cornell, who went on to place second in the tournament. In the consolation bracket, Lashway earned another pin with a fall in 1:52 over his opponent from NYU and followed that up with a pin in 2:34 over Austin Akins from Columbia. In the consolation semifinal bout, the freshman won a 13-6 decision over another Division I wrestler as he won the decision over Zach Ward from the University of Buffalo, setting up the third-place match and victory over Doyle.

Senior 197-pounder Jared Myhrberg (Queensbury, N.Y.) and freshman 149-pounder Bobby Dierna (Webster, N.Y.) of Cortland have been honored by the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference. Myhrberg was named ECWC Wrestler of the Week and Dierna was picked as Rookie of the Week.
Myhrberg, the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the NWCA rankings, has opened the season a perfect 8-0 after winning the 197-pound weight class at the King's Monarch Invitational and posted three pins in four Cortland victories at the John Reese Duals in Wilkes. His pin proved to be difference in Cortland’s 20-19 win (by criteria) and he also helped the Red Dragons to wins over nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins and Wilkes.
Dierna began his career at Cortland by going 6-0 with a pin and a major decision. The unseeded wrestler made an immediate impact at the King’s Monarch Invitational, winning the 149-pound weight class. He followed that by defeating fifth-ranked Henry Stauber of Johns Hopkins in his only match at the John Reese Duals at Wilkes.
