Biography
2010-11: Confer earned a pair of all-state honors as a sophomore. Indoors he was an All-NYSCTC finisher in the 55-meter hurdles and outdoors he was an all-state place winner in the 400 hurdles. Indoors he clocked season-best times of 7.55 in the 60 dash, 7.93 in the 55 hurdles and 8.69 in the 60 hurdles. Outdoors he finished the 110 hurdles in a season-best 15.47 and the 400 hurdles in 56.23. His indoor hurdles times and outdoor 110 hurdles time were team-bests.
2009-10: During the indoor season of his freshman year, Confer competed in a trio of events recording season-bests of 7.93 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles, 8.66 in the 60 hurdles and 3:45.02 having run the second leg of Ithaca’s 1,600 relay. During the outdoor season, Confer earned All-NYSCTC accolades with a sixth-place finish in the 400 hurdles. He tallied season-best times of 15.62 in the 110 hurdles and 57.26 in the 400 hurdles.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Webster Thomas, Confer was coached by Jim Brunswick. He earned three varsity letters in track & field and qualified for the state meet as a senior.
Personal: A music education and performance major, he is the son of John and Nancy Confer.
