Biography

2011-12: Jones earned the top-overall seed in the 200-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships after swimming a 2:17.31 in that event to win UNYSCSA and Empire 8 titles. That time set Ithaca, UNYSCSA and E8 records, as well as the championship-meet record. She earned all-America honors as a part of Ithaca's 200- and 400-yard medley relays at the NCAA championships, and was an all-American in the 200 IM by placing 14th at nationals. She won the UNYSCSA and Empire 8 titles in the 200- and 400-yard individual medley with school-record times in both events. She earned Swimmer of the Meet honors at the Empire 8 championships, and was a three-time recipient of the Empire 8 Athlete of the Week honor.

2010-11: Jones was an all-American for the third time in her career by finishing 10th at the NCAAs as part of Ithaca's 200-yard medley relay. She added seven all-state and five all-conference finishes to her resume as a sophomore, including state and conference titles in the 200- and 400-yard individual medley.

2009-10: Jones made an immediate impact for the Bombers as a freshman. She earned two all-American awards as part of Ithaca's 400-yard medley relay (sixth place) and 200-yard medley relay (11th place) at the NCAA championship meet. Jones was also part of the 400-yard medley relay that won Empire 8 and state championships. Jones is the school-record holder in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:33.33, established at the state and conference championship meet. She also holds the second-fastest time in Ithaca history in the 200 IM, at 2:08.21. Jones recorded the third-fastest time in Ithaca history in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.55) and ranks 11th in the 100 breast in 1:09.36. Jones totaled seven all-state honors and five all-conference honors.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Liverpool High School, Jones was a four-year letter winner for head coach Zac Mekker. She was a two-time team MVP and was named as the Most Outstanding Swimmer in Section III and the Swimmer of the Meet at the sectional championships. She was a team captain, two-time team Most Valuable Player and holds the Liverpool High School records in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley. She won a total of three Section III individual event championships.

Personal: A student in the exploratory program, Carly is the daughter of Tom and Leslye Jones.
