2016: Raced in three meets this season…Recorded a season-best in the 6k at the Yellowjacket Invitational on Sept. 17, finishing with a time of 26:21.70…Also registered a season-best in the 5k at the Hamilton College Invitational on Oct. 8, recording a time of 20:43.90.
High School: A 2016 graduate of West Genesee High School, Matkoski was awarded the 2015-2016 outstanding female athlete award. She also earned All-League Awards as well as individual league titles in 2014, 2015 and 2016 for indoor and outdoor track. Additionally, Matkoski was the winner of a sectional title for the 400m in 2016 for outdoor track and the recipient of the MVP team award.
Personal: The daughter of Steve and Carol Matkoski, Maria is pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy.
