Ithaca College Athletics

2015-16: Ayer earned two UNYSCSA champion honors in two events as well as three runner-up honors in different events. 

2014-15: Ayer was a two-time Empire 8 Champion and three-time Empire 8 Runner-up her sophomore season. She received seven all-state honors, including two UNYSCSA titles (200-yard IM, 200-yard backstroke) and two UNYSCSA Runner-up honors (200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley relay). Ayer was named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week twice throughout the 2014-2015 season, also receiving ECAC Upstate Co-Swimmer of the Week honors on two occasions. Ayer participated in numerous events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, individual medley, butterfly and relays. She set the program record in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.21, and ranks second all-time in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:33.98. Ayer was also named a CSCAA Scholar All-American. 

2013-14: Ayer dominated in her first year as a Bomber, as she earned Empire 8 Co-Swimmer of the Year honors in her freshman campaign. She was a four-time Empire 8 Champion including three individual titles and one relay. Ayer placed first in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke, 200-yard individual medley and 800-yard freestyle relay at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Championships to also earn four state championships. In total, she took seven all-state honors and was named the UNYSCSA / E8 Swimmer of the Meet. Ayer’s performance earned her a trip to the NCAA Championships, where she placed 13th overall in the 200-yard individual medley to earn all-America honors. 

High School: Ayer graduated from Bethlehem High School where she earned five letters swimming.  She was part of the Section II State Champion team in 2011, and she was the Section II Champion in the 100- breaststroke in 2010.
 
Personal:  Grace is a biology major and is the daughter of Peter and Colleen Ayer.
