High School:Â A 2016 graduate of John Jay High School, McCarthy led the Indians' volleyball program to two league championships, which included a section and regional championship in 2014, eventually finishing third overall at the New York State Finals. She was a three-time all-section, all-county, and all-league player. As a team captain in 2015, she was voted League and Conference Player of the Year. McCarthy was also honored as a four-time All-State Scholar Athlete.
