Biography
2019: As a senior, Della Puca opened the season with three assists against Lycoming February 27...Scored two goals along with three assists against SUNY Geneseo March 3...Recorded two assists against Cabrini March 9...Scored one goal along with two assists against SUNY Oneonta March 20...Recorded two goals and a season-high 5 assists against RPI March 23... Recorded four goals and two assists against St. Lawrence on March 27... Scored a season high of seven goals along with 2 assists against Nazareth on April 3... Recorded four goals and two assists agasint Clarkson on April 24... Recorded two goals and two ground balls against St. Lawrence on April 27.
2018: In his junior campaign, Della Puca played in 15 games for the Bombers and was a strong contributor to the offense. He ranked fourth on the team in goals made with 22 and third on the team in assists with 18. Della Puca tied for fourth on the team with points while also collecting 16 ground balls and causing three turnovers. In Ithaca's OT win against RPI, Della Puca hit the game winner to defeat RPI and advance the Bombers to the Liberty League Championship. Della Puca also earned All-Liberty League First Team Selection and was tabbed as a USILA Honorable Mention All-American.Â
2017: As a sophomore, Della Puca remained a strong contributor to the offense of the Bombers appearing in 15 games. He notched a new career high in points goals and assists. He ranked third on the team in points and goal with 48 and 29 and second on the team in assists with 19. Della Puca's 19 assists tied him for seventh-most in the league. This stellar performance landed him on the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team. Della Puca also earned IMLCA All-Region Second Team, USILA All-American Honorable Mention, and ECAC All-Region Second Team recognitions.Â
2016: Della Puca immediately established himself as an offensive threat for the Bombers during his freshman campaign. He posted 44 points on 30 goals and 14 assists, as the rookie appeared in 21 contests. He marked four game-winning tallies on the year collected 23 ground balls and five caused turnovers. He registered at least one point in 20 of his 21 appearances, which included a season-high four in victories over both SUNY Cortland (3/30) and Alfred (4/23).Â
High School: A 2015 graduate of Pleasantville High School, Della Puca was coached by Chris Kear. He led the Panthers to its first Class C title in program history, totaling 34 goals and 41 assists his senior season. Della Puca earned All-American recognition and was the Journal News’s Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year.
Personal: An exploratory major, he is the son of Richard Della Puca and Wendy Zimmerman.Â
