2014-15: Buisman was Empire 8 Runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke in her senior season. She earned four all-state honors, including UNYSCSA Runner-up honors in the 100-yard backstroke. Buisman participated in multiple events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, individual medley, butterfly and relays. 

2013-14: Buisman earned three all-conference honors and was named Empire 8 Champion after taking first in the 800-yard freestyle relay at the UNYSCSA / E8 Championships.  The finish also made her a UNYSCSA Champion. She earned three other all-state honors after placing second 100-yad backstroke, third in the 200-yard freestyle and fourth in the 200-yard backstroke. Buisman was also part of three other relay teams that finished first overall throughout the season. 

2012-13: Buisman was an Empire 8 and a UNYSCSA champion after finishing first in the 200-yard backstroke, earning all-state honors in the process. She was also runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle relay at the UNYSCSA Championships, finishing second among all other teams in the conference. Buisman, a CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention, also took third in the 200-yard individual freestyle and the 800-yard freestyle relay. She finished with a fifth place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. 

High School: A 2011 graduate of Penfield High School, Buisman earned six varsity letters for coach Eric Ingerick. She was the Section V champion in the 100 back in both the 2009 and 2010 seasons and part of a sectional champion 200 medley relay team in 2010. As both a junior and senior, Buisman was the Section V Swimmer of the Year, the team MVP and a captain. She also earned all-county honors from 2006 to 2010.

Personal: An occupational therapy major, Buisman is the daughter of Simon and Karen Buisman.
