Biography
2014-15: Zelehowsky finished his career as a Bomber with a strong senior season. He was an Empire 8 Champion in the 200-yard breaststroke and a three-time Empire 8 Runner-up in the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard medley relay, 200-yard butterfly. Zelehowsky earned seven all-state honors including one UNYSCSA title and two UNYSCSA Runner-ups. He earned All-America honors in the 100-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships. Zelehowsky participated in numerous events for the Bombers including breaststroke, individual medley, butterfly and relays. He set the Ithaca College record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 48.65 in the time trials of the UNYSCSA Championships.Â
2013-14: Zelehowsky made an immediate impact in his first season with the Bombers. He was named ECAC Swimmer of the Week for the week of Jan. 12, 2014. He was a four-time E8 champion after finishing first among conference opponents in the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay. Zelehowsky was also an E8 runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley, which marked his fifth all-conference honor of the Empire 8 / UNYSCSA Championships. He earned five all-state honors, including the state title in the 200-yard medley relay. Zelehowsky competed at the NCAA Championships and took 33rd in the 200-yard individual medley, 17th in the 200-yard medley relay, 17th in the 400-yard medley relay, 33rd in the 100-yard butterfly and 26th in the 200-yard butterfly.
High School: Zelehowsky graduated from Auburn High School where he was a six time all-America selection. He holds three Auburn High School records and was a four-time state competitor. He was also a national qualifier his senior season. Prior to Ithaca, Zelehowsky attended the University of Louisville.
Personal: Lucas is an exercise science major and is the son of Gary and Barbara Zelehowsky.
