2014: A senior captain, Carney led Ithaca with contributions in the defensive backfield and on special teams return units. He made 36 tackles in his senior year including two tackles for loss. He had a team-leading four interceptions and also recovered a fumble. Carney averaged 22.0 yards per kickoff return and 16.1 yards per punt return.

2013: Carney earned all-conference and all-region honors for the second consecutive year as a kick return specialist in 2013. He was a first-team pick by the Empire 8 and in the East Region by D3football.com after ranking seventh in the country in punt returns (15.7 yards/return) and 11th in kickoff returns (30.1 yards/return). Carney also contributed 33 total tackles including 21 solo stops and had two forced fumbles and two interceptions in the Ithaca secondary. Carney had a 91-yard kickoff return touchdown in the NCAA playoff game at Wesley and a 67-yard touchdown on a punt return against Frostburg State. | 2013 Statistics

2012: As a sophomore in 2012, Carney was a first-team All-Empire 8 selection as kick return specialist.

2011: Carney spent his first season with the Bomber program as a free safety with the junior varsity team. He was named Ithaca’s Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Week following the St. John Fisher game and earned the Bombers’ award as Defensive Scout Team Player of the Wee after the Springfield game.

High School: A 2011 graduate of Hanover High School, Carney was coached by Mike Ivanoski. He earned first-team all-state honors.

Personal: A student in the exploratory program, he is the son of Brian and Amy Carney. His brother Jake played strong safety at Notre Dame and his father lettered four times at the Air Force Academy.
