High School: A 2012 graduate of West Genesee High School, Dietz was coached by Mike Messere. He earned two varsity letters and was an all-league selection. Dietz was also the team's most improved player as a junior and a senior.

Personal: A business major, he is the son of RJ Dietz and Sue Sanderel. His brothers, Jay and Greg, are both Ithaca College graduates.
