High School: A 2012 graduate of Simsbury High School, Rechen was a letter winner on the indoor and outdoor track & field team. A pole vaulter, she finished seventh indoors at the Class LL Championships and sixth at the State Open in 2012. The CCC indoor pole vault champion as a senior, she helped her team to a runner-up finish at the meet. During the outdoor season, Rechen led her squad to several Class L and CCC team titles. As a junior she placed third in the Class L pole vault before taking fourth in the Class LL pole vault as a senior. A 2012 outdoor captain, she was the CCC champion and took eighth at the State Open in the event. She was also a competitive gymnast.

Personal: A clinical exercise science major, she is the daughter of Tom and Amy Rechen.
