2015-16: Gaffney concluded his Bomber career with a 17-10 overall record and a 6-4 mark in dual meet bouts during his senior season. Of his 17 victories, 12 came by way of decisions, while he added one major decision, one technical fall, and three pins. He was weight-class champion at the season-opening Ithaca Invitational. He earned All-New York State honors with an eighth-place finish at the New York State Collegiate Championships. Gaffney ended his career with a run to sixth-place at the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional Tournament. He was named a National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American at the conclusion of the season. |

He had the third most wins on the team, with 15 decision and five major decision wins, and totaled five pins. He was the 149-pound champion at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Championships and earned the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler award.
