2012 game-by-game statistics
2011: In his first varsity season Scanlon played in every game, appearing as Ithaca’s second-string strong safety and a stalwart of Ithaca’s special teams unit. Three of this tackles came in kick coverage and turned in one of the biggest special teams plays of the year, gaining 38 yards on a fake punt during the Cortaca Jug game. He added his first career tackle for loss in that game. Scanlon made a pair of tackles at #21 Salisbury and matched that total at Union and Springfield. He topped that mark with three stops in the come-from-behind win over Frostburg State and recorded a career-best four tackles, including a pair of solo stops, against Alfred. Scanlon was named Ithaca’s Hustler of the Week after the St. John Fisher game. |
2011 game-by-game statistics
2010: Scanlon spent his freshman season as a defensive back with Ithaca’s junior varsity team. He was named the Bombers’ Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week following the win at Widener.
High School: A 2010 graduate of Amity Regional School, Scanlon was coached by Mike DeVito. He earned all-state honors and was a two-time all-conference selection. Scanlon was named the Spartans’ MVP as a senior.
Personal: A business administration major, he is the son of John Scanlon, Jr., and Elaine Skowronski. His brother John, a 2008 Ithaca graduate, was an all-conference linebacker for the Bombers.
