Biography
2014: Ricotta capped his career with a third-straight all-conference selection as he was named to the All-Empire 8 First Team defense in 2014. He started all 11 games and made 40 tackles on the year including seven tackles for loss. He had three sacks and two fumble recoveries.
2013: Ricotta earned all-conference honors for the second year in a row on the defensive line. Ithaca’s defense was nationally-ranked in scoring defense and takeaways. He started all 12 games in his junior season and was named to the All-Empire 8 Second Team. Among his 30 total tackles were 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. |
2013 Statistics 2012: Ricotta earned all-conference honorable mention with 34 tackles on the year, including five tackles for loss. He had a sack in the win over Moravian and a fumble recovery in the Bomber victory over Hartwick. Ricotta started all 10 games on the defensive line. |
2012 game-by-game statistics2011: Ricotta played in three games as a reserve defensive lineman during his freshman season with the Bombers. He made his collegiate debut at Utica and recorded his first career tackle. Ricotta contributed another tackle in Ithaca’s win over Frostburg State and notched the first solo stop of his career against Alfred. He was named Ithaca’s Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Week following the Bombers’ season-opening win over Brockport.
High School: A 2011 graduate of Letchworth High School, Ricotta was coached by Tm McMullen. He helped the Indians to a pair of league and sectional titles and earned all-conference recognition both years. Ricotta was selected to play in the Eddie Meath All-Star Game.
Personal: A physical therapy major, he is the son of Mike Ricotta and Tamara Moneau.
