Biography

2014: Garone was a four-year starter at center and long-snapper, starting 23 consecutive games to close his career. He was an All-Empire 8 Second Team selection on offense as a senior as Ithaca ranked in the top-25 in the nation in time of possession and passing efficiency. His long-snapping work over four years consistently helped Ithaca rank among the nation’s best in all special-teams categories.

2013: Garone became the full-time starter at center as a junior and started all 12 games on the offensive line. He helped the offense rank in the top-15 in the nation in time of possession. IN working with two different starting quarterbacks and in the pistol formation, Ithaca didn't lose a single fumble in the center-quarterback exchange. He made six tackles in punt coverage and also helped Ithaca's place-kicking tandem convert 16-of-19 field goals and 23 of 26 extra-point attempts.

2012: Garone appeared in all 10 games as a sophomore and made four starts at center. He handled long-snapping duties as an integral part of Ithaca's special-teams unit that converted 6-of-9 field goals and all 28 extra-point attempts. The offensive line helped the unit gain all-region recognition for wide receiver Joe Ingrao and running back Clay Ardoin became the ninth Bomber running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.

2011: Garone played in every game, handling Ithaca’s long-snapping for punts and placements. He made one tackle in kick coverage – a solo stop on a Hartwick punt return in the win over the Hawks. Garone helped the Bombers convert 88.9 percent (16 of 18) of their extra point attempts, including their last 15 straight. Ithaca kicked a school-record 13 field goals and the Bombers’ 76.5 success rate (13 of 17) was the program’s second-highest conversion rate.

High School: Garone is a 2010 graduate of Westhampton Beach High School and 2011 graduate of Blair Academy. Garone was a three-year varsity starter Westhampton Beach High School for coach Bill Parry. He earned all-division honors as a senior and was team captain. In a post-grad year at Blair Academy, Garone played center and linebacker for coach Jim Stone. Garone was an all-league and All-New Jersey Prep honoree.

Personal: A business major, he is the son of Bobby and Lori Garone. His father is a Ithaca graduate who earned all-America honors as an offensive lineman. His sister Carly is a member of the Ithaca College volleyball team.
