Biography
2014: Dempsey led Ithaca to the NCAA Playoffs for the second straight year as the team’s starting quarterback. He ranked among the nation’s leaders in completion percentage and passing efficiency throughout the 2014 season. He finished his career ranked fifth all-time in passing yardage at Ithaca with 4,138 yards. He had 2,390 yards in 2014 with 22 touchdown passes and completed 66 percent of his attempts.
2013: Dempsey moved into a starting position at quarterback as a junior and helped the Bombers compile a 6-2 record as he started the final eight games of the season. He had 1,686 passing yards and completed 150 passes for 14 touchdowns. He was named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week following Ithaca’s win over St. John Fisher. With a win in Ithaca’s Oct. 12 game against Alfred, Dempsey became the 10th consecutive quarterback to win his first career start as a Bomber. |
2013 Statistics 2012: Dempsey appeared in three games for the Bombers. He saw his most significant action in a home win over Hartwick, where he completed five of nine pass attempts with his first career touchdown and 107 yards. |
2012 Statistics2011: Dempsey spent his first season with the Bomber program as a quarterback with the junior varsity team. He was named to the Empire 8 Presidents' List following the spring semester.
High School: A 2011 graduate of Andover High School, Dempsey was coached by EJ Perry. He was a Merrimack Valley Conference all-star as a senior after helping the Golden Warriors to the league title. Dempsey also lettered in baseball.
Personal: An integrated marketing communications major, he is the son of Jack and Becky Dempsey.
