2014-15: Zelehowsky earned four all-state honors, as well as one all-conference selection. He was named UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Runner-up in the 200-yard rreestyle relay and was All-UNYSCSA in the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle relay. He participated in several events for the Bombers including freestyle, backstroke, individual medley and relays. Zelehowsky recorded the fastest finishes on the Bombers in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle during the season with times of 1:40.11 and 4:36.13, respectively.

2013-14: Zelehowsky was a two-time conference champion after taking first among conference opponents in the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle at the Empire 8 / UNYSCSA Championships. In total, he earned five all-conference honors after three E8 runner-up finishes in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard freestyle relay and 800-yard freestyle relay. Zelehowsky was a six-time all-state honoree, including a UNYSCSA title in the 200-yard freestyle. He was named Empire 8 Swimmer of the Year, which marked his second major conference award in two seasons. Zelehowsky participated in the NCAA Championships and led all Bombers with three all-America selections. He ended up 16th overall  in the 200-yard freestyle and was part of the 12th-place 800-freestyle relay and 14th-place 200-yard freestyle relay. He also competed in the 100-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay.

2012-13 Zelehowsky was selected as the Rookie of the Year after he made an appearance at the NCAA Championships as part of two relays and an individual event. The 200-yard freestyle relay swam a time of 1:22.63 to place 13th overall to earn honorable mention all-America honors. The 400 freestyle relay placed 20th in the preliminary heats with a time of 3:04.78 and Zelehowsky finished 33rd in the 200 freestyle prelims with a time of 1:41.22. At the Empire 8 Championships, Zelehowsky won the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.91) and was part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team that set an association, championship meet and school record with a time of 1:22.10. He placed fifth in the 100 free, sixth in the 500 free and the 400 medley relay and 800 free relay each finished second while the 400 free relay was third.

High School: Zelehowsky graduated from Auburn High School. He earned six varsity letters in swimming for coach Rich Hamburger.

Personal: Adam is a biology major and is the son of Gary and Barb Zelehowsky.
