ITHACA, N.Y. – The fourth-ranked Ithaca College gymnastics team returned to Ben Light Gymnasium for the second time this week on Sunday, as it took on Springfield College in another measuring-stick meet against one of the NCGA East Region's top contenders. The Bombers topped the Pride for the second time in competition this season, out-distancing the visitors by a final mark of 188.875-to-186.375. The win improves IC's record to 2-2 in duals this season.
Headlining the day for Ithaca were a pair of individual records, as junior
Carolyn Nichols set a new mark in the vault, while junior
Victoria Gery put the cap on the exciting afternoon with a breathtaking floor performance to tie the program-best mark for the second time this year.
Overall, four gymnasts set personal highs in competition on the day. Nichols scored bests in both of her events, adding a personal-best routine on floor exercise in addition to her record-setting vault. Freshman

Savannah Gigandet also reached a new high in bars, while Gery equaled her best on floor.
Fast starts have been a trend for the Bombers this season and they continued to get off the mark well on Sunday, posting a 47.475 in the first rotation to take nearly a full three point advantage over Springfield. Another program record was smashed by IC in this rotation, as junior
Carolyn Nichols put the exclamation point on things in the sixth vault, posting a personal-best 9.775. The mark shattered the previous record of 9.750 set previously by Nichols (2018), Crescent Danziger (2004), and Kelly Stevison (2006). The IC junior finished first among all competitors in the event.
Behind Nichols, classmate

Ithaca gymnasts placed in five of the Top-6 positions.
Leading the way for Ithaca was Trammell, who turned in a third straight strong performance to pace all competitors in the event. She marked a 9.550. Right behind the sophomore was senior
