BRISTOL, R.I. – The fourth-ranked Ithaca College wrestling team entered the final day of NCAA Division III Northeast Regionals, hosted by Roger Williams, in prime position to send a sizeable contingent of grapplers to next month's NCAA Division III Championships. With nine Bombers still alive, which included eight advancing to the semifinals of the championship bracket, Sunday promised to be a day full of excitement.
 
IC realized those lofty aspirations, qualifying six of its wrestlers to the national tournament, while having two grapplers more waiting in the wings as alternates. Highlighting Sunday's action was the performance of phenomenal freshman Sammy Schneider (3^rd NWCA, 4^th d3wrestle.com), junior Jaison White, and senior captain Carlos Toribio (4^th NWCA, 5^th d3wrestle.com) who earned NCAA Regional titles at 149-pounds, 174-pounds, and 197-pounds, respectively. The weight-class crowns were the first for each wrestler. Toribio finally earns the prize after marking second-, third-, and fourth-place efforts during his illustrious Ithaca career.
 
Overall, Ithaca finished second in the overall team standings at the meet with 139.5 points. Third-ranked Johnson & Wales earned the overall team title with 171.5 points, while No. 15 SUNY Cortland took third with 111.5 points.
 
In total, the Bombers posted eight All-Region honorees. Joining the three champions were: senior Jimmy Kaishian (2^nd; 125), senior Nick Wahba (4^th; 141), junior Nick Velez (2^nd; 165), sophomore Jake Ashcraft (4^th; 184), and sophomore Jake O'Brien (2^nd; 285).
