RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team put together a dominating performance on Friday evening in a home dual at the Athletics and Events Center against SUNY Cortland, as the Bombers secured 12 first place performances out of 16 events. The Bombers outscored Cortland in the meet, 94-33.
Graduate student
Katherine Pitman quickly moved along in the pole vault as she cleared her first three heights up to 4.15 meters and currently holds a half-meter edge nationally in the event. Pitman made a run at the all-time NCAA Division III indoor record at 4.27 meters, but just narrowly clipped the bar on all three tries.
Senior
Denise Ibarra won the mile by nearly 11 seconds with a time of 5:15.62, while fellow senior
Christina Rucinski prevailed in the 3,000-meter run at 11:19.49.
Junior
Gianna Folz measured out 5.10 meters in the long jump to win the event, while sophomore
Caity Schmitz was the runner-up at 5.04 meters. Junior
Jordan Beckley finished in fourth at 4.85 meters.
In the triple jump, freshman
Sydney Strelec topped the Ithaca-heavy field at 10.64 meters, while sophomore
Elizabeth Gee was the runner-up at 10.39 meters. Schmitz was third with a mark of 10.32 meters and freshman
Molly Sear came in fourth with a leap of 10.24 meters.
Freshman
Samantha Healy won the shot put at 11.54 meters, and sophomore
Kendall Wellauer came in second at 11.18 meters. Senior
Charis Lu took third with a mark of 10.90 meters. Lu was also the runner-up in the weight throw at 14.42 meters, while Wellauer finished in third at 14.19 meters. Senior
Caitlin Noonan finished in fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.99 meters.
Also in the 3K, sophomore
Annie Morrison was the runner-up in 11:25.32, classmate
Kelly Farrell took third in 11:25.83 and senior
Georgia Caplen was fourth in 11:36.36.
Senior
Amber Edwards won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.12 seconds, and Folz was third at 9.54 seconds.
Sophomore
Meghan Burd won the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.11 seconds, while classmate
Amanda Wetmore followed shortly behind in 8.12 seconds.
Sophomore
Estelle Yedynak led the way in the high jump with a mark of 1.63 meters, while junior
Catherine Larkin finished in second at 1.48 meters. Senior
Brianna Hayes also cleared 1.48 meters to come in third, while freshman
Ariyahna Bernard was fourth at 1.43 meters.
In the 4x400-meter relay, junior

Maria Matkoski claimed the top spot in 4:19.42. Sophomore

Sarah Lachenmayr won the event in 1:49.25.
Ithaca's runners-up in the event, Burd, Edwards, Wetmore and freshman
Allura Leggard completed the race in 1:49.65.
Freshmen
Juliann Terry and
Julia Nomberg each cleared 3.20 meters in the pole vault to finish in second and third, while classmate
Emily Carey was fourth at 2.90 meters.
Swarthout clocked a time of 1:02.52 in the 400-meter dash to finish as a runner-up, while Schultz trailed in 1:02.74. Bushway was fourth in the event at 1:04.19.
Nickerson claimed runner-up honors in the 800-meter run at 2:27.75, while Competiello was fourth at 2:28.50.
Freshman
Jaime Sheppard took third in the 200-meter dash at 28.13 seconds, while Reagan was fourth at 28.27 seconds. Leggard placed fourth in the 60 dash in 8.20 seconds.
Ithaca is off until its annual Alumni Celebration on January 6 and will then head to NYC for the Towson Invitational at the Armory on the 13th.
