ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's track & field team held its first home meet of the indoor season when the Bombers welcomed SUNY Cortland to the Athletics and Events Center for a dual meet on Friday evening. In the rare dual meet, Cortland totaled 67 points to Ithaca's 60.
Junior
Elliott Place won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.15 seconds, while sophomore
Daniel Harden-Marshall took top honors in 22.34 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Classmate
Lee Matthews was victorious in the shot put with a mark of 14.11 meters, while sophomore
Harrison Buttrick won the weight throw with a mark of 13.94 meters.
Matthews was also a runner-up in the weight throw at 12.71 meters, while Buttrick finished third in the shot put with a heave of 12.79 meters. Senior
Gabe Shakour claimed third in the weight throw at 12.70 meters.
The Bombers took the top five spots in the 3,000-meter run, and were led by freshman
Chris Singer at 9:13.17. Sophomore
Christopher Tinti followed in second at 9:21.86, while freshman Samuel Shapiro was third in 9:48.83. Fellow freshman
Samuel Ives was fourth with a time of 9:52.21 and classmate
Ryan Joseph rounded out the top five with a time of 9:57.67.

Jake Dombek and
Alex Arika took top honors at 1:31.30.
The Bombers' second relay squad of Place, junior
Peter McGowan, sophomore

Kyle Davis were fourth in the 4x200 at 1:34.35.
In the 4x400-meter relay, freshmen
Jack Culhane and
Alec Hofer, sophomore
Logan Winningham and senior
Jordan Wohlfeld prevailed in 3:29.69. The second group of senior
Gerardo Munoz, junior
Derek Howes, senior
Seth Abbott and sophomore
Robert Greenwald trailed as the runners-up at 3:37.64.
Yeates took second in the 60 dash in 7.29 seconds, while Dombek was fourth at 7.30 seconds and classmate
Blake Weekly crossed in 7.33 seconds.
In the pole vault, sophomore
Joseph Nally took runner-up honors at 4.40 meters, while junior
Martin Desmery finished in fourth with a mark of 4.10 meters. Sophomore
Alex Dempsey cleared 4.10 meters to finish in fifth.
Greenwald was also a runner-up in the high jump at 1.83 meters, while Abbott took third with a mark of 1.78 meters. Senior
Kevin Pomer came in fourth at 1.73 meters and sophomore
Everton Steele finished in fifth at 1.63 meters.
Howes posted a time of 51.18 seconds in the 400-meter dash to come in second overall, while Munoz secured fourth in 51.35 seconds. Harden-Marshall was a runner-up in the long jump at 6.91 meters.
Arika was also third in the triple jump at 13.41 meters.
Culhane notched a time of 2:01.30 seconds in the 800-meter run to come in third overall. Hofer followed in fourth at 2:06.30.
Dombek was a fourth place runner in the 200 with a time of 23.20 seconds, while Arika claimed fifth at 23.39 seconds. Arika also took third in the triple jump at 13.41 meters and was fifth in the long jump at 6.42 meters.
Graduate student
Chris Gutierrez crossed the line in 4:34.92 in the mile to place fourth. Abbott logged a time of 8.88 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to finish in fourth, while freshman
Kobe Guilford was fifth at 9.58 seconds.
Ithaca is off until its annual Alumni Celebration on January 6 and will then head to NYC for the Towson Invitational at the Armory on the 13th.
