ITHACA, N.Y. – The Liberty League released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon for the week ending on December 3 and two members of the Ithaca College women's track & field team were named Performers of the Week, while five other Bombers earned honor roll distinction.
In the opening meet of the season for Ithaca, senior
Taryn Cordani blew away the field by nearly two minutes in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:57.00 at the Cornell Greg Page Relays on Saturday, which is good enough to qualify for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships.
At the same meet, senior
Katherine Pitman took top honors in the pole vault at 4.00 meters, as she was the lone entry in the field to move beyond 3.65 meters.
Cordani was named Track Performer of the Week, while Pitman secured Field Performer of the Week.
On this week's honor roll for Ithaca were junior Peter Ezema (men's basketball), sophomore Daniel Harden-Marshall (men's track & field), junior Andrew Mikhailichenko (men's swimming & diving), senior Anna Belson (women's swimming & diving) and senior Nilza Costa (women's swimming & diving).
Ezema helped Ithaca to a 3-0 week, including two wins in the Liberty League, by averaging 15.3 points and 10.3 rebounds. Ezema also shot 61.1% from the field (22-for-36) and recorded 12 steals. He began the week with 14 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a 86-84 win over Cortland, and then went 10-for-11 for 20 points with six rebounds and six steals against Vassar. Ezema concluded the week with his 20th career double-double at Bard with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Harden-Marshall placed fifth in the 300-meter dash with a personal-best time of 35.48 seconds at Cornell's Greg Page Relays on Saturday. Harden-Marshall also entered the long jump and met an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying mark with a performance of 6.80 meters to place sixth.
Mikhailichenko had the best individual finish for IC this weekend at the 7th Annual Bomber Invite. He finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:08.24. He was also part of the team that had the highest relay finish for the Bombers over the weekend, the 200 medley relay. His team of Bradley Keith, Nate Bartalo and Stanley Zaneski finished in four with a time of 1:35.93.

He also took 18
th overall in the 400 IM, swimming to a time of 4:23.10. He recorded a personal best in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.54, finishing in 16
th place. His 800 freestyle relay team, with Bartalo, Dan Meyers and Jake Hewitt, finished sixth overall with a final time of 7:14.46.
Belson won the one-meter dive at the Bomber Invite, in a pool of 10 other schools with a total score of 424.40. She led the Bombers, who finished with four of the top five spots.
Costa placed 10th in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 18:18.28 at the Bomber Invite this weekend. She also tied for 14th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.62. The senior finished eighth overall in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:12.53. In the 500 freestyle, she finished in 11
th place with a time of 5:14.10.

She was also part of the 800 freestyle relay team, with Angelina Domena, Victoria Eastham and Morgan Hoffman-Smith, that took fifth place overall with a time of 8:04.99.
