NFHCA Release
Â
CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its NCAA Division III All-Region teams on Monday afternoon with a grand-total of 197 student-athletes receiving either first- or second-team honors across six regions of voting. Ithaca had one member appear in the announcement, as senior striker
Colleen Keegan-Twombly was named to Second Team in the North Atlantic Region.
Â
Keegan-Twombly was one of eight total players from Empire 8 Conference institutions to appear in the release. It marked the second consecutive season that the Kingston, N.Y., native has been honored by the NFHCA, as she was a First Team All-Region selection last season. Monday's release is also the second time Keegan-Twombly has been recognized this fall, as she also was an Empire 8 All-Conference First-Team pick. The senior also recently competed in the Division III Senior All-Star Game, hosted at William Smith College, earlier this month.
Â
Keegan-Twombly was an offensive force for the Bombers this season, leading the team in both points and goals and tying for the team lead in assists. The senior from Kingston, N.Y., set new career highs with 34 points and eight assists, while she beat opposing keepers for 13 goals during the year. It is the second consecutive year that she was a First-Team honoree by the conference, while it is the third time she has earned a season award from the league.
Â
Her 2.27 points per game and 13 goals scored both ranked second in the conference during the regular season, while she ranked third in points and tied for fourth in assists. The senior striker was held off the score sheet just three times in 15 total contests during the year, while she posted six games with three-or-more points. Keegan-Twombly concludes her Ithaca career with 94 career points on 38 goals and 18 assists.
