KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The postseason recognition continued to pour in for the nationally-ranked Ithaca College women's soccer team as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has announced that seniors
Kelsey King and
Beth Coppolecchia have each been named All-American after guiding the Bombers to their 26th consecutive NCAA appearance in 2015. King was named First-Team All-American while Coppolecchia earned a spot on the All-America Third-Team.
King, who was named All-Region by the NSCAA for the third time in her four-year career earlier in the month, led the Bombers in scoring and ranked fifth in the Empire 8 Conference with 24 points. Her 87 shots was fourth-most of any conference player this season while her 1.2 points per game ranked fifth overall.
The Coopersburg, Pa. native scored two or more goals in a game twice this season while eclipsing the three-point plateau on three different occasions. The senior midfielder accounted for two game-winning goals on the season leading her to be named First-Team All-Conference for the third time in her career.
King concludes her senior year as one of the most dominant offensive talents to ever wear a Bombers' uniform. She currently ranks third all-time in both career goals (43) and career points (98).
Coppolecchia was also named First-Team All-Region for the second consecutive season earlier this month after posting a 13-5-2 mark in goal for Ithaca. The senior goalkeeper stood among the best goalies in the conference, ranking second in goals against average (.744), save percentage (.891) and total saves (123). Her seven shutouts this season was tied for the second most of any conference keeper during the 2015 campaign.
Coppolecchia tallied 10 or more saves in a game this season five times including a season-best 13 stops in the conference finale against Stevens. A two-time Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week this season, Coppolecchia started every game in goal and was named All-Conference by the Empire 8 for the third consecutive season.
The 2014 d3soccer.com All-American and Goalkeeper of the Year has her named etched in the College's record book as she ranks second all-time in wins (47), third in saves (301), fifth in shutouts (28) and is tied for sixth all-time in save percentage (.885).
