ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College football team is ranked in both prominent national polls following its 2-0 start to the season. Ithaca moved up two spaces, from 19th to 17th in the D3football.com Top 25 Poll for the week ending Sept.20. Ithaca is ranked 15th in the first release of the season of the American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll.

It is the third year in a row that Ithaca has started the season with two straight wins. Ithaca turned in one of its best offensive performances of its recent history, by surpassing 500 yards in a game for the first time since 2008 in Saturday's 42-7 win over Hartwick. It was the first Empire 8 game of the season for the Bombers, who are the defending conference champions.

This week, Ithaca will play its first road game of the season, a 1 p.m. kickoff Saturday at Alfred. The Saxons received votes in each of the national polls.
