Bixby Named Women's Basketball Head Coach at Dickinson College

CARLISLE, Pa. – Ithaca College women's basketball assistant coach Katherine Bixby has been named head coach at Dickinson College. She helped the Bombers set several program records as an assistant coach, while the team compiled a two-year record of 53-8.

An all-American guard as a member of the Ithaca College women's basketball team, Bixby returned to her alma mater as the program's top assistant in July of 2012. She helped guide the Bombers to a school-record setting 27 victories and an appearance in the NCAA round of 16 in 2012-13. During the 2013-14 season, the Bombers won their third consecutive Empire 8 title and returned to the NCAA playoffs – advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time in program history.

"Katherine is going to do great things at Dickinson because of the quality of work that she's done here, especially over the past two years," Ithaca College women's basketball head coach Dan Raymond said. "She's been a part of this program for the last 10 years and her contributions are invaluable. We're proud that she is a Bomber."

A three-time All-Empire 8 First-Team selection, Bixby served as an assistant coach with the Bomber program during the 2010-11 season and at Ithaca High School in 2011-12. Bixby, who also earned all-conference honors as a Bomber lacrosse player, graduated from Ithaca in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in biology and received her master's degree from Ithaca in 2012.

Ithaca College will begin a national search to hire an assistant coach immediately.
