Scott Sidnam recorded Empire 8 men's lacrosse weekly honors announced Monday. Henne was named Empire 8 Player of the Week, while Sidnam earned Goalkeeper of the Week nods. Both were named to the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team Saturday after helping Ithaca to its third Empire 8 title with a 10-6 victory over St. John Fisher. The Bombers improved to 15th in the
USILA week 11 national standings, a one spot improvement from last week.
Henne, a captain, recorded four points, three goals and one assist, during the 2-0 week for the Bombers. He won 16-of-30 faceoffs for a win percentage of .533. Henne added a team-best nine ground balls.
Named the Empire 8 Tournament MVP, Sidnam made 11 stops in the Bombers' 9-7 semifinal victory over Stevens Institute of Technology Wednesday and eight saves against the Cardinals on Saturday.
Ithaca will host Montclair State on Wednesday, May 7 at 4 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
