IWLCA Names Ithaca's Runyon, Fischer to All-Empire Region Teams

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Ithaca College women's lacrosse student-athletes sophomore Ally Runyon and junior Molly Fischer have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's All-Empire Region Teams announced Monday. Runyon was named to the first team and Fischer to the second. The pair, who both tallied All-Empire 8 First-Team recognition, helped the Bombers to their third consecutive regular-season crown and spot in the title game.
 
A two-time Empire 8 Player of the Week, Runyon led the Bombers with 64 points on a team-best 56 goals and eight assists. Playing and starting 17 of the Bombers' games, Runyon added a squad-high 35 ground balls to go with 33 draws and 10 caused turnovers.
 
Ranking fourth on the team with 37 points, Fischer netted 32 goals and dished out five assists as a junior. She won 31 draws, gathered 16 ground balls and forced 10 turnovers.
 
The IWLCA has honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the all-region teams. These student-athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-America teams to be announced on Monday, May 19. The IWLCA will honor the all-Americans at the IWLCA All-America banquet on Saturday, June 7 in King of Prussia, Pa.
