ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's tennis team, Empire 8 second-place finishers in the regular season and conference championship tournament, was rewarded for its strong season with three individuals were awarded a total of five all-conference honors as the 2014 Empire 8 All-Conference Men's Tennis Teams were announced Monday by the league office. Ithaca was 10-8 overall in dual matches and 6-1 in the Empire 8 during the regular season.

Senior
Griffin Reid and sophomore
Chris Hayes were first-team selections in singles and also picked up second-team honors as a doubles team.

Reid earned his fifth and sixth all-conference honors of his career. As a junior, Reid was a second-team pick in both singles and doubles. He was a first-team singles player as a sophomore and honorable mention in singles in his freshman year. Reid went 9-12 overall in singles and was 5-1 in conference duals at the first and second positions. He was 10-7 overall in doubles matches, and when paired with Hayes posted a 9-4 record.

Hayes earned two all-conference awards for the second straight year, after getting first-team nods in singles and doubles as a freshman. In singles play, Hayes had a team-high 16 victories, and he was 6-1 in Empire 8 dual matches. Hayes was 13-9 overall in doubles, and 9-4 when paired with Reid.

Freshman
Wes Davis picked up a second-team selection in singles. It was the first all-conference honor in the career for Davis. He was 14-5 overall in singles with a 6-0 singles dual record in conference matches. His 14 singles victories ranked second on the team. Davis also had a 9-11 record in doubles.

Senior
David Andersen was Ithaca's representative on the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year team, which honors a student-athlete from each team for competing with honor and integrity. Andersen was 7-9 in singles and 8-12 in doubles on the season.
