Ithaca Softball Welcomes Stevens, Alfred And Utica For E8 Tournament

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College softball team will host the 2014 Empire 8 Championship Tournament this coming weekend, with games starting on Friday, May 2. The first game is a matchup between second-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology and third-seeded Alfred at 10 a.m.. The second contest will pit the host Bombers against the fourth-seeded Utica Pioneers at 12 p.m. Ithaca earned the right to host with an 8-4 Empire 8 record. The Bombers swept the season series with Stevens, giving them the conference tiebreaker. 

Ithaca split a home doubleheader with Utica earlier this season. The Bombers won the first game, 7-3, before falling to the Pioneers by a score of 9-6 in game two at Kostrinsky Field.
