ITHACA, N.Y. – The 16th-ranked Ithaca College men's lacrosse team (12-4) is making its 11th straight appearance in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament. The top-seeded Bombers will host the fourth-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks (8-7) for a semifinal game Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Stevens hold a 6-4 all-time series advantage over the Bombers dating back to 2007. The Ducks, who defeated Ithaca 15-11 in Saturday's regular-season finale, are 1-1 in Empire 8 tournament play against Ithaca. Stevens edged Ithaca 10-7 in the championship game in 2012 before falling to the Bombers 12-10 in the 2013 semifinals.
Ithaca owns a pair of conference crowns, while Stevens claimed its first in 2012.
The Bombers won five of their last six regular-season games to qualify for the playoffs and finish atop the Empire 8 with a 6-1 record. They have had a winning record in the league all 14 years that the Empire 8 has sponsored the sport. Stevens has won three of its last four contests to secure the four seed.
Wednesday's winner will advance to Saturday's league championship game, which will be held at the highest remaining seed. The other semifinal match is being played at second-seeded St. John Fisher against third-seeded Nazareth. The champion will receive the Empire 8's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
