ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College baseball team moved up in the April 29 editions of both national Division III college baseball polls after winning four of five games last week. Ithaca now stands 18th in the D3baseball.com rankings, up two spots from the April 22 poll, and the Bombers are 20th in the American Baseball Coaches Association Poll, a five-spot jump. Ithaca posted doubleheader sweeps of New Paltz and 28th-ranked York College last week, and dropped an extra-inning game at regionally-ranked Oswego.
Ithaca improved its overall record to 26-8 so far this season and is scheduled to play a single game Wednesday at St. Lawrence. Next weekend, the Bombers will conclude the regular season with a game at Brockport on May 10 and a home game against Oswego on May 11. The Bombers will be under consideration for a berth in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships. Regional selections will be announced May 12.
