ResultsROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three Ithaca College women's track & field athletes were in competition Monday at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference heptathlon championships at RIT.
The trio completed three events: the long jump, the javelin throw and the 800-meter run to conclude multi competition after participating in four events each Sunday.
Sophomore
Kristen Pompey placed second out of 10 competitors to lead Ithaca and earn eight points with a 3,854-point performance. Freshman
Natalie Meyer placed fifth in the event with a 3,671-point showing and classmate
Paige Agnew was eighth with 3,224 points.
Pompey had the best toss of the group with a heave of 34.45 meters in the javelin, while adding a distance of 4.58 meters in the long jump and a time of 2:45.92 in the 800.
Meyer jumped 4.91 meters in the long, threw 23.66 meters in the javelin and ran a 2:47.19 800. Agnew had a leap of 4.46 meters in the long, a distance of 21.45 meters in the javelin and clocked a 2:45.71 800.
The Bombers will compete Friday and Saturday, May 2-3 at the NYSCTC Outdoor Championships hosted by St. John Fisher.
