ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Ithaca College women's track & field junior Emilia Scheemaker was named Empire 8 Women's Track & Field Field Athlete of the Week announced Monday.
 
Scheemaker hit four ECAC qualifiers last week in the triple and long jumps at the Penn Relays and Cornell's Big Red Invitational. She had a 5.33-meter leap in the long jump Thursday and an 11.34-meter finish in the triple jump Friday at the Penn Relays. On Sunday at Cornell, Scheemaker placed sixth in the long with a mark of 5.29 meters and was the runner-up in the triple with a mark of 11.84 meters, the sixth-best Division III mark in the nation.
 
The Bombers will compete Friday and Saturday, May 2-3 at the NYSCTC Outdoor Championships hosted by St. John Fisher.
