Ithaca Baseball Rained Out Against Cortland; Moves Up In National Ranking

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College baseball team got bad news when intermittent showers throughout the day Tuesday and heavy rainfall shortly before the scheduled first pitch of a scheduled game against Cortland caused unplayable field conditions. After the field was evaluated, the game was declared a rain out. Earlier Tuesday, good news came in the release of the April 22 editions of the national polls. Ithaca moved up from 25th to 20th in the D3baseball.com rankings and held the 25th spot for a second straight week in the American Baseball Coaches Association poll.

Ithaca had three wins and two losses last week, with all three victories coming on the road against then-No. 13 St. John Fisher. A mid-week loss to Rochester and a split of the first two games in the four-game series at Fisher were the other results.

Efforts will be made to reschedule Tuesday's rained-out game against Cortland. Ithaca is scheduled to travel to Oswego for a 4 p.m. game Wednesday.
