Luke Stark of the Ithaca College baseball team was named Empire 8 Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending April 13. Stark led the Ithaca lineup in a perfect 5-0 week for the team including a four-game weekend series sweep of Utica College.
Stark was the main offensive contributor in a four-game sweep of Utica. He was 9-for-14 in the series with six runs scored, two doubles and two RBIs. Stark batted .562 for the week and also reached base three other times on two walks and once when hit by a pitch. Stark is third on Ithaca in three major offensive categories with a .358 batting average for the season, 24 hits and 17 runs scored.
Ithaca returns to action Tuesday, April 15, with a 4 p.m. game against Rochester at Freeman Field. Due to the weather forecast, a scheduled Wednesday game at Oneonta has been canceled. This weekend, Ithaca travels to St. John Fisher for doubleheaders Friday and Saturday.
