Markus Receives Barbara Radef Award

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association announced its annual award winners Friday afternoon. Ithaca's Heather Markus was named the recipient of the Barbara Radef Award, an honor given to female athletes in this year's graduating class.

Winners of the award must have outstanding ability as a swimmer or diver, meet acceptable academic standards, compete successfully during the just completed swimming season, have outstanding performance at the Conference Championships and have a distinguished performance at a higher level of competition.

Markus exceled in her final season at Ithaca, as she was named Empire 8 / UNYSCSA Champion in the 1-meter dive. She also earned  All-UNYSCSA honors in the 1-meter dive, finishing third at the UNYSCSA Championships last February.
