ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Ithaca College freshman Sean Phillips was named Empire 8 Indoor Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Year announced Thursday.

Phillips, who was named conference rookie of the year during cross country season, earned a pair of New York State Collegiate Track Conference honors and a runner-up finish at the Empire 8 meet indoors.

Phillips ran the mile leg of the Bombers' first-place distance medley relay team that finished in 10:22.82 and placed third in the 3,000-meter run in 8:48.21 at the NYSCTC Indoor Championship. At the E8 meet, Phillps ran second in the 5K with a time of 15:29.70.
