ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College gymnastics team posted its highest team score of the season in its showcase meet as the 2014 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association championship meet was held at Ben Light Gymnasium. Ithaca totaled 182.300 and
Megan Harrington earned all-America honors by finishing in seventh place with a score of 37.050. It is the first all-America honor for Harrington in her career, and her career-best score in all-around.
Harrington's all-America honor in the all-around makes her the 10th Ithaca gymnast to earn that distinction over those events, and those gymnasts have combined for 15 all-America honors. Harrington finished with a 9.3 on vault, a 9.2 on uneven bars, a 9.475 on balance beam and a 9.55 on floor exercise.
Ithaca totaled its highest scores of the season on uneven bars and balance beam, en route to a score of 182.300, which was also a team-best score for the season.
Ithaca's total of 44.450 on uneven bars was bolstered by a team-leading score of 9.6 from
Shilanna Gallo. On balance beam, Ithaca finished with a season-best score of 45.300, led by Harrington's 9.475, a 9.225 from
Ingrid Calfee and a 9.000 from
Lara Haberle.
All five members of Ithaca's vault lineup scored 9.1 or higher.
Alexis Mena had a 9.375, Harrington and
Rani Jacobson each scored 9.3, Calfee added 9.15 and
Nicole Razzano had a 9.1.
On floor exercise, Harrington led with 9.55, Calfee scored a 9.475 and Mena had a 9.45.
