CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team (1-4) suffered a 12-7 setback to second-ranked and undefeated Cortland (5-0) Wednesday afternoon. Playing its fourth opponent ranked in the IWLCA top 10, Ithaca held the Red Dragons to a season-low 12 goals. The Red Dragons were outscoring opponents by an average of 14.75 goals per game entering today's contest.
Ithaca had Cortland within one at the half, 6-5. Cortland scored the go-ahead goal with nine ticks lingering in the first. The teams exchanged two scores each to open play, before the Red Dragons rattled off three straight. Ithaca answered netting three of its own over a four-minute span, but Cortland sealed the first with a late score to lead 6-5.
The Red Dragons dominated the second outscoring Ithaca, 6-2. After four Red Dragon goals, Ithaca got on the board at 18:29. Cortland scored two more before sophomore
Ally Runyon went unassisted to polish off all scoring, 12-7.
Freshman
Emily Ross made 11 stops in goal suffering the loss between the pipes.
Sophomore
Riley Marion tallied a Bomber-best three goals.

Becky Guzzo dished out a pair of assists. Classmate
Jenna Marchinetti forced three turnovers and collected three ground balls. Fischer won five draws and Runyon four.
Cortland outshot Ithaca, 34-23, and collected 19 ground balls to Ithaca's 13. The Bombers owned a 12-9 advantage in draws, though committed 17 turnovers to the Red Dragons' 12.
The Bombers open their Empire 8 schedule on Saturday, March 22 hosting 11th-ranked St. John Fisher at 1 p.m.
