ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College gymnastics team honored its seniors and scored its highest team total of the season in a dual meet to wrap up the regular season on Saturday at Ben Light Gymnasium. Ithaca scored 182.050, while visiting Cortland won with a team score of 187.000.
The Bombers posted their highest season totals in each of the four events as well as the overall score. Ithaca totaled 46.525 on vault, led by
Rani Jacobson who was tied for fourth with a score of 9.5.
Shilanna Gallo won the uneven bars with a stellar 9.65 routine. That score was four-tenths better than the runner-up.
Megan Harrington was third on bars with a 9.075.
On balance beam,
Lara Haberle and
Kate Woodward led the way for Ithaca. Haberle was third with a 9.55 and Woodward was fourth with a 9.45. Both scores for those gymnasts set or matched career-best scores on beam. Ithaca totaled 45.125 on beam, a full point better than the best mark of the season.
Harrington led Ithaca on floor exercise with a third-place finish and a score of 9.525.
Alexis Mena and
Ingrid Calfee tied for sixth with scores of 9.375. Harrington scored 36.300 in all-around, placing second to Cortland's Courtney Mangini.
Following the meet, Ithaca's three senior gymnasts and student assistant coach were honored for their contributions to the program over the past four seasons.
Shilanna Gallo,
Rani Jacobson and
Kate Woodward all competed in Saturday's meet, and
Meredith Daniels has been working with the team in a coaching capacity.
The Bombers will next compete at the ECAC Championships March 8 at Springfield College.
