ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College gymnastics team competed Saturday at the Cornell Big Red Invitational and posted a team score of 171.825. The Bombers faced Division I team and meet host Cornell, which placed first with a total of 189.575 and Division II Southern Connecticut State, which scored 188.525. Alexis Mena turned in top-10 finishes on both balance beam and floor exercise to lead the way for Ithaca.

On balance beam, Mena scored 9.225 in just her second varsity meet as part of the balance beam lineup. She tied for sixth in that event. Mena also scored 9.075 on floor exercise to place 10th. It's the second meet in a row in which Mena has been Ithaca's top scorer on floor.

Shilanna Gallo was Ithaca's leader on uneven bars with a score of 9.325 to finish eighth and Rani Jacobson placed 10th on vault with a team-leading score of 9.35.

Ithaca returns home to Ben Light Gymnasium on Saturday, Feb. 15 for the annual Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational at 11 a.m. along with Rhode Island College and Brockport.
