Mitchell Earns All-Conference Recognition

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Empire 8 announced its Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams on Thursday, naming Ithaca senior Frank Mitchell to the second team.

Mitchell, who has earned all-conference honors for three-straight seasons, served as team captain and started in all 25 of the Bombers' games. He led Ithaca with 16.8 points-per-game and 8.2 rebounds-per-contest. Mitchell paced the Bombers with 20 blocked shots and 31 steals, while his 30 assists ranked fourth on the team. A native of Hillsborough, N.J., he has played in over 80 games through three seasons with the Bombers. He ranks eighth all-time in team history with 1,298 points, and is the 24th player in the history of the program to reach the 1,000-point plateau.

Freshman Joe Masino is Ithaca's representative on the 2013-14 Men's Basketball Sportsman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 emphasizes that "competing with honor and integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. The honorees on the Sportsman of the Year Team have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
