ITHACA, N.Y. -- Ithaca College freshman wrestler Matt Booth earned the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Rookie of the Week award for the week ending Feb. 16. Booth was victorious in Ithaca's lone dual match last week, scoring a 6-2 decision victory at 197 pounds in Ithaca's match against ninth-ranked Wilkes.

Booth built a 3-1 advantage heading to the third period, then earned three additional near-fall points to take the advantage over Wilkes wrestler Eric Bach. Booth's record now stands at 17-9 for the season and he dropped Bach to 13-7.

The Ithaca wrestling team wraps up its dual-meet season Wednesday at 7 p.m. when the Bombers host Cortland. Ithaca is ranked 15th and Cortland is fifth in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III rankings.
