ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College gymnastics team achieved its highest team score of the season and defeated Rhode Island College as part of a tri-meet during the annual Harriett Marranca Memorial Invitational at the Hill Center. The Bombers scored a 176.775 while Rhode Island College totaled 173.575. Brockport finished first with a total of 186.900.
Lara Haberle led the way for the Bombers with a 9.55 score on balance beam, her career-best total and the highest score of the season on beam for any Ithaca gymnast. She was tied for first overall with Jennifer Sklenar of Brockport.
Shilanna Gallo led Ithaca's efforts on uneven bars with a score of 9.375. It's the fifth time in six meets that Gallo has been the top performer on bars for Ithaca. She placed second overall on that event.
Megan Harrington was third with a score of 9.3. Ithaca's bars total of 41.425 was its second-best score this season on that rotation.
Ithaca's floor lineup combined for a score of 46.25, a full point and a half higher than its previous best score this season.Â
Megan Harrington had 9.525 to place fifth, Haberle was sixth with 9.425 and
Alexis Mena scored 9.325.
The Bombers posted their second-highest total of the year on vault with a 45.7 in that rotation.
Ingrid Calfee scored a season-best 9.35 to place fifth in the event and
Rani Jacobson was seventh with a 9.325.
There were two all-around competitors in the meet, with Ithaca's
Megan Harrington placing first with a score of 36.75 and Emily Murphy of Rhode Island College taking second with a 34.85.
Ithaca returns to action in two weeks, hosting Cortland on March 1 at 11 a.m.
