The Bombers answered with a run of their own, scoring 12-straight points to take a five-point lead. A three pointer from sophomore Sam Bevan capped off the drive, giving the Bombers a 20-15 lead with 8:25 to go. Ithaca led by as many as seven points throughout the remainder of the first half and took a solid 31-27 lead into the break.

After two changes of possession without a score, the Soaring Eagles took the ball still trailing and the shot clock turned off. With just three seconds remaining, Elmira broke free from the Bomber defense and hit a layup to take a 69-68 lead. Ithaca missed its final full court desperation shot at the buzzer, giving Elmira the victory.
