Box Score CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team dropped a road non-conference game to Cortland Tuesday night, falling to the Red Dragons by a score of 91-73 at Corey Gymnasium. Ithaca's record now sits at 1-4 on the year, while Cortland improves to 4-0.

The Bombers shot 47.3 percent from the floor, hitting 26-of-55 shots, marking their second best shooting game of the season. Ithaca was 9-of-23 from three-point range and 12-of-17 from the free throw line.

For the third time this season, senior
Keefe Gitto paced the Bombers with 17 points in 31 minutes of play. Including Gitto, four Bombers scored in double figures. Sophomore
Joe Masino scored a season-high 15 points, while classmate
Carlin Champion tied a personal best with 14 points in the defeat. Senior
Max Masucci chipped in with 11 points in a team-high 34 minutes. Gitto and Masino tied for the team lead with eight rebounds each.

After back-and-forth play to start the contest, Cortland went on a 14-4 run over a six minute span to take a 24-13 lead. With 12 minutes to play in the opening frame the Bombers began to heat up, as they went on a 12-2 run to pull back within one of Cortland. Despite Ithaca's rally, the Red Dragons regained a double-digit advantage at the break, leading 50-39 at halftime.

Cortland's momentum carried into the second frame, as the Red Dragons opened up a 67-51 lead on Ithaca with just over 12 minutes to play. The Bombers chipped away at Cortland's advantage over the next four minutes, cutting the lead to eight on a three pointer from Champion with eight minutes remaining. Marc Chasin nailed a shot from beyond the arc to trim the Red Dragons' lead to seven.

With the score at 80-73, Cortland was once again able to pull away, sinking foul shots in the final minutes to increase its lead. The Bombers were unable to rally again, giving Cortland the 91-73 victory.

The Bombers return to action on Friday, Dec. 5, as Ithaca heads to Canton, N.Y. to take on the Saints of Saint Lawrence. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.Â
