ITHACA, N.Y.-- CoSIDA recently announced its Academic All-District honors, selecting quarterback
Tom Dempsey and fullback/tight end
Ben Cary for the District 3 NCAA Division III All-Academic Team. Dempsey and Cary are two of 24 athletes in the district recognized for this honor and have now advanced to the ballot for Academic All-America honors.

Dempsey is a senior integrated marketing communications major and has earned a 3.78 cumulative grade-point average. As Ithaca's starting quarterback, Dempsey has 2,025 passing yards on the season and has completed 184 of 272 attempts. He has recorded a rushing touchdown, in addition to 20 passing touchdowns and has thrown six interceptions in 2014.

Cary has earned a 3.79 GPA in accounting. Cary leads Ithaca's offense with eight touchdowns, one rushing and seven receiving, in his senior season. He averages 40.4 yards per game as a fullback/tight end threat for the Bombers.

Ithaca holds a 7-2 overall record and has been crowned Empire 8 conference champions, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Ithaca will conclude its regular season with the Cortaca Jug game on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Cortland.
