ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College football team moved up two more spaces in the D3football.com Top 25 to 13th in the latest rankings, which reflect games through Saturday, Oct. 4. The Bombers also stand 13th in the American Football Coaches Association Division III Poll.
It is the third consecutive week that Ithaca has moved up two spots in this poll, and is Ithaca's highest ranking in the D3football.com Top 25 poll since the Bombers were ranked eighth following the first week of the 2009 season. Ithaca began the 2014 season ranked 23rd in the preseason poll and has increased its ranking by 10 spots.
The Bombers are 4-0 overall and stand alone in first place in the Empire 8 with a 3-0 conference record. There are 36 undefeated teams remaining out of 242 NCAA Division III teams. Ithaca ranks ninth in the nation in scoring defense, as Ithaca has allowed just 39 points through four games, a 9.8 points-per-game average.
The American Football Coaches Association Division III Poll was released Monday afternoon and Ithaca is ranked 13th by the coaches for the second week in a row.
